Harris Dickinson, Nicole Kidman’s co-star in *Babygirl*, shares his experience filming their intimate scenes.
Harris Dickinson, Nicole Kidman’s *Babygirl* co-star, praised the Oscar-winning actress as "the most comforting, warm performer" to work with during intimate scenes, adding, "She has this innate sense of playfulness.
Nicole Kidman was far from a "perfect stranger" on the set of *Babygirl*, according to her co-star Harris Dickinson.
In the film, Harris plays a young intern who embarks on a passionate affair with Nicole’s CEO character. Reflecting on their time filming intimate scenes, Harris described Nicole as "the most comforting, warm performer to work across from."
"She sets the tone on set and makes it so easy to be vulnerable and funny because she’s so daring," Harris shared in a *Variety* interview published on Oct. 23. "She’s so brave, and she does things that leave you thinking, 'What the f--k is that?' You can’t even imagine it."
He added, "She’s just got this innate sense of playfulness, and when you have that on set, everything becomes so easy."
Harris also mentioned that their intimate scenes weren’t nerve-wracking, thanks to working with an intimacy coordinator who helped set clear boundaries for what they were both comfortable with before filming began.
"The intimacy coordinator asks, 'What are you comfortable with? What do you want as a director? How can we align with that vision?'" Harris explained. "They handle it delicately, ensuring the scene flows smoothly without interruption."
As for Nicole, she also relied on director Halina Reijn for guidance.

"Because of the nature of the film, it was either going to be completely vulnerable and exposed, or you’d feel protected, and then it wouldn’t connect," Nicole told *Variety*. "When I spoke with Halina, I just said, 'Give us a safe space,' and, 'Please don’t make me look like a fool.'"
This isn’t Nicole’s first experience with an erotic thriller. In 1999, she starred in *Eyes Wide Shut*, directed by Stanley Kubrick, alongside her then-husband Tom Cruise.
"There’s something unique about being a woman in that dynamic," she shared with the *Los Angeles Times* in July. "Stanley had a different relationship with Tom. They worked more closely on his character."
